The House Bunny, starring Anna Faris, was released in the USA on August 2008. The movie idea sparked when Anna Faris wondered what happens to the Playboy Bunnies if they leave the mansion.
Synopsis/movie plot of The House Bunny:
Anna Faris plays as Shelley Darlingson, an orphan, that finally finds the happiness in her life after she moves in the Playboy Mansion. Shelley, with the ambition to be Miss November – centerfold, had a blast on her 27th birthday. Everything seems to be perfect until she wakes up the next morning and received this letter from Hugh Hefner (the owner of Playboy) that she is kicked out from the mansion and has to leave in 2 hours time.
Being desperate, Shelley takes the house mother job for a sorority of misfits losing their house for lack of members. They have a very limited time to find 30 pledges before their house will be taken over by the sorority of mean girls. The journey begins of how Shelly helps the geek and unpopular girls, turn them into the hottest girls in town. Well, For the girls of ZETA house, college life was no party, until Shelley showed up.
What is the ending of The House Bunny?
The moved-out-from-the-Playboy-mansion-letter doesn’t come from Hugh Hefner but Shelley’s competitor in the mansion. Later on Hugh Hefner finds out and calls Shelley to come back to the Playboy Mansion. Not only that, she will be the centerfold of Playboy magazine’s next issue!
But, Shelley rejects his offer and chooses to stay with the Zeta. On the other side, the Zeta blaming her for turning them into another mean girls. Getting that kind of rejection from the Zeta, Shelley decides to leave and take the offer of being Miss November.
The Zeta picks the 30 girls randomly and Lily is the one to sent out the invitation. However, Lily is greeted by a handsome guy in the post office which causes her to forget about those invitations. Ashley, the mean girl, throws the invitations away hence no one shows up on the day when pledges are supposed to come.
To cut it short, Shelley leaves the shooting of Miss November and comes back in time. She makes a speech in front of everyone and manages to get 30 pledges!
So, does Shelley end up with Oliver?
Somewhat, yes! Oliver is there with a rose when Shelley comes back home. Shelley tells him that she was in Playboy before this but that doesn’t really matter to him, as he wants to know the real her. And, they have a proper self introduction
