If you like to read biographical book and watch musical movie, The Runaways is a must watch for you. This drama movie combines both musical and biographical element, telling the story of 1970s all-girl rock band with the same name as the movie title. As for me, the movie seems to be too heavy, I would rather watch comedy movie where the main actor plays lame joke with the chest acne and his friends

The Runaways movie carries big name Hollywood actresses from Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett to Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie. The movie tells the story of how they go from L.A. street kids to legendary rock stars that inspires the girl-band now.

Bought Hannah Montana : The Movie not long ago and decided to watch it on this relaxing weekend. Nothing to comment about story line since the movie comes from the TV series.

Visual effect wise is not that good and not that bad either although the truck accessories on one of the farm’s scene is quite interesting. After all, it’s a teenager movie from Disney channel, whaddya expect huh?

Soul Men, released on November 2008 in USA, is a comedy drama and musical related movie. Starring Samuel L. Jackson whom plays as Louis and Bernie Mac as Floyd.

Synopsis – movie plot of Soul Men:
Louis and Floyd, both used to be backup soul singers, never speak to one another for the past 20 years. However, they agree to go for a reunion concert in order to honor the late band leader (John Legend) and travel across the country.

Actor Bernie Mac, who plays as Floyd in Soul Men, passed away on August 2008 due to pneumonia. Coincidentally, Isaac Hayes who plays as himself in Soul Men also passed away on the next day.

Movie plot of Mamma Mia! :
Meryl Streep plays Donna Sheridan, a single mother who lives in a colorful Greek island. Her daughter, Sophie Sheridan (by Amanda Seyfried), was about to get married with the man she loved. Being raises by her Mum only, Sophie never knows whom her father is. But she discovers Donna’s diary that contains her past love story and finds out these 3 men, whom could be her father. She invites them to her wedding without informing Donna.

I love this movie despite the not-so-great storyline and lots of singing every now and then. Probably it is the easy listening ABBA’s song that could engage the audience, in this case it’s me.

I would say Mamma Mia! is like the human version of Anastasia kind of movie. You know, beautiful setting as if it’s in a fairytale and engaging lyric plus music with several silly characters. In this case it is the 2 best friends of Donna. They are quite funny, you gotta watch it. But it’s a bit weird listening to the singing of Pierce Brosnan. Can’t get away with the Bond image.
