13 Going on 30, a 2004 chick flick movie, tells the story of a 13 yo girl, Jenna Rink (by Jennifer Garner), whom plays a game on her 13th birthday, and wakes up to find herself growing as a 30 yo woman on the next day.
How Jenna (13 yo) turns into 30 yo woman in one night time
Jenna is having a party and invited Tom-Tom, the popular girl in school, and her gangs. Tom-Tom suggested to play a game, 7 Minutes in Heaven, and locked Jenna in the closet. Her best friend, Matt, comes in the house and when Jenna knows it is him, instead of Chris the popular boy, she gets angry and asks him to leave. She wishes to be 30 and some of the wishing dust from the doll-sized dream house (a present from Matt) spills on her. She wakes up the next morning to find out that she is a 30 years old woman.
The conflicts of being 30
Slowly she discovers that she has turn into a completely different person from the 13-year-old-Jenna. She is no longer befriended with Matt since high school, when she became the Six Chicks’s leader and prom queen.
On the other side, Jenna is working in a magazine called Poise and Lucy (grown up Tom-Tom) is her colleague. Their company is facing a problem as their competitor, Sparkle, has somewhat stolen their articles and covers for several months. That means, somebody in Poise is giving the info for Sparkle.
It is soon known that Lucy is behind the stealing-article-issue. She tricks Matt to sign the release form and sells the idea to Sparkle which makes her becomes their chief executive.
What is the ending of 13 Going on 30
Matt is going to marry his fiance when Jenna shows up last minute. He admits that he does have a feeling towards her but can’t let let his fiance down either and says,”You get everything you want, but not the dream house.”
Jenna gets to keep the dream house but not him. She is crying in the yard when the wishing dust spills on her. *simsalabim* She is back in her closet and being 13 yo. When Matt comes in, she kisses him.
Fast forward, it shows their wedding and the pink dream house.
